Typing Practice

Welcome to the un-timed practice mode. Focus on accuracy before speed.

The Art of Deliberate Practice

Many typists hit a "plateau" where their speed stops improving despite regular use. This usually happens because they are typing on "autopilot." Deliberate Practice is the process of stepping out of your comfort zone to focus on specific weaknesses.

Practice vs. Test

In a Test, your goal is performance. In Practice, your goal is learning. Use this un-timed mode to slow down and ensure your fingers are moving with absolute efficiency.

The Rhythm Method

Try to type with a consistent "metronome-like" rhythm. It is better to type 40 WPM smoothly than to type 60 WPM in bursts with pauses in between.

Focus Exercises

A

The Accuracy Sprint

Commit to typing 100 words in a row without a single error. If you make one mistake, restart. This reinforces the "accuracy first" mindset.

B

The Look-Away Drill

Focus your eyes on the screen, but try to "feel" the shape of the words. If you feel a slight hesitation, don't look down—use the home-row bumps to orient yourself.
